Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
SuplexScout is a discovery platform for the independent wrestling scene across the UK and Ireland. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and the rights you have over it.
What data we collect
- Account information — your email address, password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider), screen name and account type (fan, promotion, venue, talent).
- Location data — the UK postcode, Irish Eircode or place name you type into search. We convert it to approximate coordinates so we can rank shows by distance. We do not track your device GPS location.
- User-submitted reviews — the ratings, tags and any match card details you submit, linked to your account so each account can review a show once.
- Claimed page content — logos, cover photos, biographies, links, show listings and profile fields uploaded by owners of claimed promotion, venue and talent pages.
- Claim requests — the details you provide when asking to claim a page, so we can verify ownership.
How we use your data
- To return relevant search results and distance-sorted listings.
- To create and manage your account, and to authenticate you.
- To send service emails (via Resend) such as sign-up confirmation, password resets and claim outcomes.
- To publish reviews, aggregate ratings and crowdsourced match data on promotion, venue and talent pages.
- To verify claims of page ownership and to moderate content for accuracy.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Third-party services
- Supabase — authentication, database and file storage.
- Netlify — website hosting and content delivery.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- LocationIQ and postcodes.io — converting postcodes, Eircodes and place names into coordinates for distance search.
- Stripe (planned) — if we introduce paid features in future, card payments would be processed by Stripe. We would never store full card details ourselves, and this policy would be updated before any such feature goes live.
Data retention and soft deletion
Most records on SuplexScout are soft-deleted. When a show, page, review or listing is removed, it is hidden from the public site but the underlying record is retained in our database — this protects historical review aggregates and lets us reverse mistakes or handle disputes.
If you want your personal data permanently erased rather than hidden, contact us using the details below and we will action a full erasure request where we are not required to keep the data by law.
Your rights under UK and Irish GDPR
If you are in the UK or Ireland you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected (rectification).
- Request erasure of your personal data.
- Receive a portable copy of your data in a common format.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (UK) or the Data Protection Commission (Ireland).
Cookies
We use strictly necessary session and authentication cookies (and equivalent browser storage) to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Clearing these will sign you out.
